Abdul Kalam<\/strong>\u00a0 (1931-2015) served as the <strong>11th President of India <\/strong>from 2002 to 2007. He is known as the \u2018<strong>Missile Man of India<\/strong>\u2019 for his great contributions in <strong>Missile development &amp; Space programmes<\/strong> in India. In <strong>1998<\/strong>, the <strong>First Indigenous coronary stent <\/strong>&amp; in 2012, an indigenous tablet (PC) for healthcare workers at primary health centres in rural areas\u00a0 was developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Kalam<\/strong> was born on <strong>October 15, 1931<\/strong> in Tamil Nadu. He was also an expert in playing \u2018<strong>Veena\u2019 <\/strong>(a musical instrument) &amp; deeply influenced by <strong>Carnatic music<\/strong>. He was also equipped with the <strong>Bhagwat Geeta &amp; Upanishads<\/strong>. Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam <strong>died <\/strong>on <strong>27 July 2015 <\/strong>at IIM Shilllong while interacting &amp; addressing the students. In honor of his dedication <strong>to students<\/strong> and his constant commitment in shaping the next generation, <strong>his birth anniversary (15th October)<\/strong> is celebrated as <strong>World Students\u2019 Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#deeded\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\"><strong>World Students&#8217; Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>World Students Day<\/strong> is observed on the <strong>15th of October<\/strong> each year in India to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Following his presidency, he continued to devote himself to teaching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He took on roles as a visiting professor at the <strong>Indian Institute of Management (IIM)<\/strong> in <strong>Ahmedabad, IIM Shillong<\/strong>, and IIM-Indore.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For his contributions as a scientific advisor to the government of India, Kalam was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan awards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nevertheless, the significant contributions of Dr. A. Abdul Kalam, which was concluded in March 2012 significantly boosting India\u2019s defence capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PATNA is a mnemonic to remember the five missiles of the <strong>Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP)<\/strong> established by the Indian government to achieve self-sufficiency in missile technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It stands for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prithvi (Surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missile)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Agni (Surface-to-surface intermediate range ballistic missile)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Trushul (Short-range surface to air missile)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nag (Third generation anti  tank missiles)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Akash (Medium-range surface-to-air missile)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Technology_Vision_2020\"><\/span><strong>Technology Vision 2020<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 1998, a comprehensive plan named <strong>Technology Vision 2020<\/strong> was proposed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Its objective was to outline a <strong>roadmap for India&#8217;s transformation from a less-developed nation<\/strong> to a developed society within a span of 20 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The plan aimed to achieve this by implementing various measures, including enhancing agricultural productivity, promoting technology as a catalyst for economic growth, and improving accessibility to healthcare and education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"background-color:#fff2cc\" class=\"wp-block-list has-background\">\n<li>Vision 2020, as supported by Dr. Kalam, sought to transform India into a developed country by 2020 by creating rural-urban, education, and health parity, however it faced difficulties, and most of its objectives extended till 2030.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>agenda 2026<\/strong> of India focuses on high-tech and sustainable development (green energy, AI, creative economy) towards a 2047 developed status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dr_Kalam_talked_of_%E2%80%98Creating_a_Liveable_Earth_%E2%80%93_In_Last_Speech\"><\/span><strong>Dr. Kalam talked of \u2018Creating a Liveable Earth\u2019 &#8211; In Last Speech<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201c<strong>Sustainable development<\/strong> enables the realisation of <strong>green clean environment<\/strong> without pollution, having prosperity without poverty, peace without fear of war and a happy place to live for all citizens of the nation of the world.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In this last speech, Dr. A.P.J.
