the purpose of which is to improve facilities in order to enhance these adopted village inhabitants&#8217; quality of life and where necessary, improve infrastructure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Essential services will be made available to PMAGY adopted villages, including education, healthcare, sanitation, roads, electricity and drinking water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Through PMAGY and other rural development initiatives, Government of India is pursuing social and economic empowerment based upon inclusive growth along with poverty reduction and self-sustainability within the adopted village of the SCs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is intended that the adopted villages will become self-sustaining by encouraging skill development, increasing agricultural productivity and self-employment in a cost effective manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Along with such to change the mindsets of the SC inhabitants within the adopted village communities to create social harmony and project social empowerment through participatory approaches and to build governance at the local foundation, village level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Again, through the PMAGY, the Government of India plans to transform backward villages into model villages characterized as &#8220;Integrated Rural Development&#8221;
